Technology

Plus

In 2013 we released Plus rim technology. Using a 25mm external paired with a 21mm internal rim we found better aerodynamics, better lateral stiffness, better ride quality, better tire shaping, and better handling. As well as Plus rims allow for lower tire pressure, for even more comfort, control and rolling speed.

SCT

Stability Control Technology (SCT). Making a wheel that is fast while riding straight into the wind is simple, making one that is excellent in all wind conditions, is quite different. SCT is about how to tame the stability of a wheel in crosswind situations. The knowledge, design and technique involved in the SCT design is Hed's most heavily guarded secret.

Fat Lip

Our Fat Lip rim design is meant to take a punch. With a reconstructed rim bead it offers a stronger rim with a lip you can feel for lower pressure rides to match the terrain you ride

DNA

DNA profile and drilling aligns the spoke bed and hole to match four spoke angles that can add stress to a rim (pulling, pushing, left and right). Perfecting this alignment makes for an even and consistent interface between the nipples and the rim around the entire circumference of the wheel. With the nipple being more oriented to the spoke angle the spoke path is able to stay consistent with less stress on the spoke, nipple and rim. With DNA we put carbon where it needs to be making a stiff and strong rim that still offers the suppleness for those rough days in the saddle. This all creates for a stronger and more reliable wheel.
